Welcome to the world’s first planned capital! Witness some of the most vibrant and exciting cities of the East Coast come alive as you tour through Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Boston and New York City. You’ll see these metropolitans glisten with national monuments, famous memorials, appetizing comfort foods and urbanites that never sleep! So, grab your cameras and bring your appetite for the city life as you embark on a nine-day tour of eventful sightseeing.

Day 1 – Arrive in Washington, D.C.

Welcome to the America’s beautiful capital! You’ll be enveloped with famous national monuments and an assortment of cherry blossom blooms. At 6 PM, get to meet your fellow traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming journey.

Day 2 – Washington, D.C. Sightseeing

This morning’s sightseeing features many of Washington D.C.’s famous landmarks, including the Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean and World War II memorials. Then, get ready for a guided tram tour of Arlington National Cemetery where you’ll see the Kennedy gravesites, the Tomb of the Unknowns, Arlington House and the Robert E. Lee Memorial. Later, visit Newseum, the world’s most interactive museum! The Newseum’s galleries and theaters will immerse you in the world’s significant news stories – from the most important people, places and time periods. Dinner tonight is at one of Washington’s favorite restaurants, followed by an illumination tour of beautiful monuments.

Day 3 – Washington, D.C. Sightseeing

After an early breakfast, you’ll enjoy a full free day to pursue your favorite interests. Consider a visit to the Smithsonian Institute, Georgetown University, Ford’s Theatre or other prominent monuments and museums that might interest you. You may also want to journey to the historic Old Town Alexandria, a quaint town just over the Potomac River. Your Tour Director will be available to offer suggestions on additional sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

Day 4 – Washington, D.C. to Philadelphia

This morning, say goodbye to Washington D.C. as you set off to the “City of Brotherly Love.” Upon arrival, you’ll visit the diverse Reading Terminal Market. Have a tour of this vibrant market and learn the story behind cheesesteaks, hoagies, and pretzels –some of Philly’s famous foods. In the afternoon, you’ll tour influential buildings of this historic city visiting the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the nation’s birthplace. This evening’s dinner will be at the momentous City Tavern, once host to George Washington and the First Continental Congress.

Day 5 – Philadelphia to Boston

After breakfast, we travel north to Boston, one of the oldest cities in the United States. You’ll trot on cobblestone streets and explore historic sites nestled among world-class restaurants, shops and cafés.

Day 6 – Boston Sightseeing

This morning’s tour of Boston highlights the significant sites near Boston Common including the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church and the Freedom Trail. Next, visit the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum where you’ll experience the late President’s life, legacy and leadership. Get to see personal artifacts from Kennedy’s Oval Office, and discover his influence on the U.S. Space Program, the American Civil Rights Movement and more. Later, you’ll have free time to explore more of Boston on your own. Perhaps catch a game at the oldest baseball park in the major league—and home of the Red Sox—Fenway Park, or enjoy a cool drink at the original Cheers pub, where everybody knows your name!

Day 7 – Boston to New York City

Today you depart Boston and head south to the “Big Apple.” New York offers a diversity of experience, from the glittering lights of Broadway to the serenity of the Cloisters. You’ll arrive late afternoon and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Perhaps enjoy a melodious Broadway show this evening.

Day 8 – New York City Sightseeing

Enjoy breakfast and a tour of the city’s most acclaimed sights: Times Square, Greenwich Village, the Financial District and Chinatown. Then, cross over to Brooklyn and embark on a Pizza Tour. This lively tour will show you some of Brooklyn’s landmarks, including Coney Island and Brighton Beach, while biting into a few samples of New York’s finest pizza along the way. Enjoy your evening at leisure.

Day 9 – New York City Sightseeing

Today you’ll have a free day to explore more of New York as you like. Visit the expansive Bronx Zoo, take a dazzling tour around the city by helicopter or shop on Fifth Avenue. Your tour director will be available to help you with additional sightseeing plans as well as give shopping and dining suggestions. This evening join us for a festive farewell dinner, the perfect ending to your East Coast journey!

Day 10 – Depart New York City

See you later, New York! Your tour ends today with provided transfers to Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark International Airports.
